JVS works with youth from around the world as they connect with education and community resources in their new home.

“My mother lights a candle at church for my social worker at JVS. She says JVS has cared for me the way a mother would, or the way God hopes for.” -Isabelle

Social Work Youth Case Management & Therapy

Around half of all individuals resettled by JVS are under the age of 18. JVS Social Work Youth works collaboratively with community partners and local school districts to provide community-based services to youth ages 6-21 which address mental health, financial stability and crisis resolution. Services include, advocacy, school enrollment, case management, group activities & individual therapy.

Home Study and Post Release Services

Unaccompanied children are youth under 18 years old who have crossed the U.S. border, often without an accompanying parent or legal guardian.Children most often reunite with family members or a family friend who is identified as their sponsor and can provide them with support. JVS works with national partners to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate case management services to youth and their sponsors with the focus on connecting youth and their sponsors to resources in their new home.

Youth Mentoring

JVS Youth Mentoring program works with youth ages 15-24 to support civic engagement, leadership development and the pursuit of higher education. Youth Mentoring provides case management services and matches youth with mentors who support them in their academic and civic goals. Interested in volunteering?
